Job summary

The City of Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a Facility Attendant to support park and facility operations, including gymnasiums, fields, wellness areas, and concession stands. You will engage with patrons to ensure a positive experience and perform light food preparation in accordance with safety regulations.

Job description

The Facility Attendant is responsible for assisting in the operation of the assigned park or facility. Duties may include monitoring a park or park facility, including a gymnasium, athletic field, wellness area, reception area, concession stand, or recreational venue. The Facility Attendant interacts with patrons and assists in providing a positive customer experience.

Essential Functions:

• Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business.

• Greets customers as they enter facility and assist them with their needs in a pleasant and welcoming manner.

• Operates the facility sales system, collects monies, issues receipts, and operates a cash drawer.

• Renders aid as needed, including administering CPR and using an AED device.

• Performs other work as assigned.

• Prepares Ready to Eat (RTE) food according to food safety regulations.

• Maintains a clean food prep area and follows all food safety regulations.

• Assists Snack Bar Manager with identifying items needing to be re-ordered.

• Rotates with team members on the beverage cart during the warm weather season.

• Assists team members as needed during golf tournaments with food prep, serving, buffet management, beverage sales, and clean up tasks.

Physical Demands:

• Work is performed typically standing and walking; however, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying recreational equipment and supplies weighing up to forty (40) pounds is required on an intermittent basis.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or age or older for the Golf Snack Bar due the sale of alcohol.

• Three months experience as a facility attendant, customer service representative, or closely related experience preferred.

Special Certifications and Licenses:

• Must possess current CPR/AED certifications or the ability to acquire same within three (3) months from date of hire.

• Golf Facility Attendant must attend the Food Safety training within 60 days of employment.

• ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Commission) license to serve alcohol is preferred.

• Valid driver's license required.
