Job summary

Enercon Technologies in Gray, Maine, is seeking an SMT Line Operator to serve as a hands-on technical lead for the SMT production line. This role focuses on performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of the line. Candidates must pass vision and dexterity tests, possess strong electronics knowledge, and be adept at mechanical troubleshooting.

Job description

The SMT Line Operator serves as a hands‑on technical lead responsible for the day‑to‑day performance, reliability, and optimization of the SMT production line. This role is the first line of defense for line‑down events, with a strong emphasis on mechanical troubleshooting, program optimization, and continuous improvement.

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 4PM – 3AM.

The skills you need to succeed:
  • You must pass a pre‑employment vision exam (all candidates must be able to accurately distinguish colors used to identify electronic components, indicators, and markings).
  • You must pass a dexterity test among others at discretion of employer.
  • You must have a strong understanding of assembly equipment and electronics.
  • You must have the ability to work with minimal assistance.
  • You must have the ability to work and lead as a member of a team.
  • You must have the ability to work in environments experiencing routine and rapid change.
  • You must have excellent organization and decision‑making skills.
  • You must have a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
Education & experience of a successful candidate:
  • 2‑year college degree in electronics or related field or 4-6 years of experience in equivalent field.
  • Certification(s) for electronic assembly equipment.
  • Firsthand experience with lean manufacturing and /or six sigma desirable.
