Job summary

AB Electronics is hiring an SMT Setup Operator for first shift in Danbury, CT. This full-time, on-site role requires coordinating parts kits, verifying correct parts and quantities, and staging materials for the SMT line.

No prior experience required; training provided. You will handle inventory transactions, print labels, and reconcile parts with work orders while supporting a safe, efficient production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to read work instructions and communicate in English.
• Comfort using a computer for everyday tasks (lookup, enter data, print labels).
• Stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs on an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Keep SMT production line stocked and moving so operators can run the next job.
• Ensure the right parts reach the machine at the right time.
• Enter material transactions into the computer system.
• Print labels for kits and leftover parts.
• Break down finished jobs and return unused parts to stockroom.
• Flag the stockroom immediately if something is missing or doesn't match.

SMT Setup Operator

Danbury, CT | Full-Time | On-Site (First Shift, Monday–Friday)

AB Electronics is hiring an SMT Setup Operator on first shift in Danbury, CT. This is a full-time, onsite role, Monday through Friday.

What you'd do

You'd keep our SMT production line stocked and moving. Without you, the operators don't have what they need to run the next job - and the line stops. Your job is to make sure the right parts get to the right machine at the right time, and that every part that comes back gets accounted for.

A typical day:

• Receive a parts kit from the stockroom for the next production job.
• Check that the kit matches the work order - right parts, right quantities.
• Stage the parts at the SMT line so the machine operators can load them.
• Enter material transactions in our computer system.
• Print labels for kits and leftover parts.
• Break down finished jobs and return unused parts to the stockroom.
• Flag the stockroom right away if something is missing or doesn't match.

What you need to start

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• The ability to read work instructions and talk with your team in English.
• Comfort using a computer for everyday tasks - looking things up, entering information, printing labels; Microsoft Office proficiency a plus.
• The ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs during an 8-hour shift.

Even better if you've done

• Material handler, line support, stockroom, or warehouse work in a factory.
• Run an SMT machine or another type of production equipment.
• Handled small electronic parts (reels, moisture-sensitive parts, ESD parts).
• Used a computer system to track inventory or material (ERP, MES).
