Job summary

Patton Electronics Co. in Maryland is seeking a Surface Mount Technology Operator to setup and operate SMT equipment including stencil printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI, and stencil cleaners. The role includes pulling material, loading feeders, operating machinery, inspecting work and performing preventive maintenance.

Shifts available: day (7:00am–3:30pm) and evening (3:00pm–11:30pm). Applicants should have basic English proficiency, strong teamwork, and a hands-on approach

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Team-based environment experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and dexterity with basic hand soldering.
• Familiarity with IPC SMT workmanship standards.
• Min. 2 years' experience operating surface mount equipment.

Responsibilities

• Acquire materials from inventory and verify quantities against Work Order Documentation.
• Load part feeders and set up SMT equipment according to Set Up Documentation.
• Operate SMT equipment safely per Manufacturer’s Operating Manual and in-house SMT guidelines/procedures.
• Inspect SM Assemblies to IPC-A-610 and/or in-house workmanship standards.
• Document all labor information and complete routings steps electronically.
• Perform weekly Preventive Maintenance on SMT equipment.
• Follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and ISO documentation.

• Basic computer and clerical skills are also a necessity.
• Must be familiar with IPC SMT workmanship standards.
• Min. 2 yrs experience operating surface mount equipment.
