Job summary

TalentBurst is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech for an 11-week assignment at a large hospital in Rochester, NY. The role requires 3 years SPT experience, HSPA or CBSPD BLS certification, and 500-bed hospital background. Day shift, 40 hours per week with 8-hour shifts across 5 days.

Responsibilities include decontamination, sterilization, instrument prep for 35 OR suites, and QA documentation. Travel SPT experience of 6 months is preferred; references from prior assignments are required.

Qualifications

• Decontamination, HLD, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments/trays.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments for 35 OR suites, AFC units, and clinics.
• Operate steam sterilizers, ultrasonic washers, heat sealers, Steris units, cart wash, etc.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, proper assembly, function, and sterility.
• Maintain sterilizer documentation, biological testing, load sheets, and QA records.

Responsibilities

• Handle infectious waste/linen and maintain infection-control standards.
• Manage surgical supplies, inventory, stock levels, and procedure carts.
• Identify equipment requiring repair and maintain equipment-use/service records.

Title: Sterile Processing Tech
Duration: 11 weeks
Location: 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642
Schedule: Day Shift, 8*5 40hours/week

Hours: 40 hrs/week

Experience: 3 years SPT experience

Facility: Large hospital experience required (500 beds)

Certifications: HSPA or CBSPD BLS

References: 2 professional references from last 2 assignments
