Job summary

Alcoa Warrick Smelter in Newburgh, Indiana is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee mechanics, coordinate work and ensure safe, efficient execution of maintenance tasks.

You will lead on-shift troubleshooting, review equipment history, and partner with production, maintenance planners and engineers to keep operations reliable. This role may require evenings or weekends and shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience in heavy industry with maintenance/troubleshooting on rotating equipment (pumps, gearboxes etc).
• Confirmed experience troubleshooting PLCs and hydraulic/pneumatic circuits.
• Experience using a CMMS and applying process data to troubleshoot equipment issues
• Proven understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and material conveying systems.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, codes and standards.
• Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work on other shifts and/or come in early or stay late as needed.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

• Maintain close liaison with production, support groups, maintenance planners, engineers and other supervisors.

About the role:

Are you ready to be part of a strong Smelter team as the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor? This role is responsible for supervising, advising and coordinating the work of the mechanics assigned to work under their direction. Warrick Smelter is looking for a professional to provide safe and efficient execution of assigned work as scheduled, supervise crew time, provide problem analysis for equipment history and appropriate response to emergencies. This may be first or second shift and weekend work will be required.

• 2 years of experience in heavy industry (aluminum, steel, mining, paper/pulp, etc.) and performing maintenance/troubleshooting on rotating equipment (pumps, gearboxes etc.

Preferred skill:

• HVAC maintenance would be a bonus

Note: Shift availability varies based on experience
