Job summary

Team Carney, Inc. in Linthicum, MD is seeking an SME Instructor with an active Secret clearance to lead the General Security Curriculum development and delivery for DoD clients. The role focuses on training design, delivery, and certification projects.

You will work with client leads, manage courses, perform certification, and provide SME support for analysis and beta testing. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with security clearance and education in education or related experience.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen is required.
• Active Secret security clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education from an accredited university.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Information Security.
• In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, 5 years of instructor experience for adult learners in DoD security policy.
• Experience in Information Security.
• Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and perform course manager duties.
• Complete client Instructor Basic and Intermediate Certification as defined in the client Instructor Certification Manual.
• Serve as course manager for courses/products and instruct, prepare classroom, perform administrative support, manage classes and student accounts, and perform course maintenance.
• Demonstrate mastery of General Security knowledge, skills, and policy.
• Perform routine day-to-day course maintenance for Instructor-led and eLearning content.
• Instruct General Security courses including basic and advanced instructor-led courses per schedule.
• Provide classroom support and preparation.
• Serve as SME in response to student and customer inquiries about General Security.
• Provide SME support for Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and beta testing of new products.
• Assist Curriculum Manager in ADDIE phases, file management, and course reviews.
• Review training materials and provide recommendations on content accuracy and relevancy.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES ONE DAY A WEEK ONSITE IN LINTHICUM MARYLAND.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE.

The Role and Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will provide subject matter expertise in the development, delivery and maintenance of the General Security Curriculum. This includes working with client program leads, management, technical staff in the design, conversion, development and delivery of training and certification projects, curricula, and products.

• Complete client Instructor Basic and Intermediate Certification as defined in the client Instructor Certification Manual
• Serve as course manager for course/products and instruct, prepare classroom, perform administrative support, manage classes and student accounts, and perform course maintenance
• Demonstrate mastery of General Security knowledge, skills, and policy
• Perform routine day-to-day course maintenance services to include Instructor led, eLearning course and products associated with General Security courses
• Instruct General Security courses to include basic and advanced instructor- led courses in accordance with the course schedule
• Provide classroom support and preparation
• Serve as a SME in response to student and customer inquiries with respect to General Security
• Provide SME support for Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and for Beta testing of new products
• Provide assistance to the Curriculum Manager in all phases of the ADDIE process, to include file management, and extensive course review from cradle to grave
• Review training material/deliverables and provide recommendations on the accuracy of and relevancy of content of instructor-led eLearning, webinars and performance support tools (i.e. storyboards, instructor guides, participant guides, design plans, and other related material)
• Perform annual review of assigned courses and products

Minimum Qualifications to Succeed:

• U.S. Citizen
• Current Active Secret security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in the field of education from an accredited university
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Information Security field.
• In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, five years of experience as an instructor for adult learners, in formal classroom or via distance learning courses related to DoD Security Policy
• Experience inInformation Security
• Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of work experience in General Security
