Job summary

Delta Solutions & Strategies is seeking an SME Industrial Engineer to support SSC Space Sensing activities in Boulder, CO. The role focuses on systems engineering management, scheduling, process development, and cross-functional program execution to advance Space Sensing programs.

The ideal candidate will be a recognized expert with DoD or national security space experience, capable of guiding technical direction, solving complex problems, and briefing senior government leadership.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience and technical depth commensurate with SME-level role.
  • Experience in analyzing complex processes, schedules, workflows, dependencies, or program execution data.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering management, risk, configuration, interface, or schedule management processes.
  • Ability to identify process or schedule issues and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, writing, and briefing skills.
  • Ability to coordinate across technical, acquisition, financial, and program management stakeholders.
  • On-site work capability in Boulder, CO and support for government meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject-matter authority for the assigned functional area and advise Government technical or program leadership on high-complexity issues.
  • Shape technical approaches, strategies, processes, and decision products and lead the most complex reviews or analyses.
  • Represent the functional area in senior-level technical forums, working groups, and cross-organizational coordination as required.
  • Analyze engineering and acquisition processes and recommend practical improvements to increase efficiency, consistency, and mission effectiveness.
  • Support systems engineering management activities including configuration management, risk management, interface management, technical planning, and process control.
  • Develop, maintain, analyze, and present Integrated Master Schedules and related program scheduling products.
  • Assist Government teams with work breakdown structures, schedule dependencies, critical paths, milestones, and program baseline reviews.
  • Evaluate program and project schedules and identify sequencing, dependency, resource, or execution risks.
  • Support process development and improvement activities, including documentation of standard processes, lessons learned, and recommended changes.
  • Coordinate across Integrated Product Teams and functional organizations to improve transparency and synchronization of technical and programmatic activities.
  • Prepare analyses, briefings, reports, schedules, and recommendations for Government review.

Job description

Delta Solutions & Strategies is seeking a SME Industrial Engineer to support United States Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Sensing (SN) activities in Boulder, Colorado.

This position will provide systems engineering management, integration, scheduling, process development, workflow improvement, and cross-functional program execution for Space Sensing programs. The selected candidate will serve as a subject-matter authority, shape technical approaches and decision products, lead the most complex analyses or reviews, and advise Government technical or program leadership on high-impact issues.

The ideal candidate will be a recognized expert in the functional area with deep Department of Defense or national security space experience and the ability to influence technical direction, resolve difficult problems, and brief senior stakeholders.

*Anticipated award/start date September 28, 2026

What you will be doing:
  • Serve as a subject-matter authority for the assigned functional area and advise Government technical or program leadership on high-complexity issues.

What you will need:
  • Professional experience and technical depth commensurate with a Subject Matter Expert-level role in the applicable functional area.
  • Relevant industrial engineering, systems engineering management, program integration, scheduling, process analysis, or related experience commensurate with the position level.
  • Experience analyzing complex processes, schedules, workflows, dependencies, or program execution data.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering management, risk, configuration, interface, or schedule management processes.
  • Ability to identify process or schedule issues and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, writing, and briefing skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively across technical, acquisition, financial, and program management stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience developing or analyzing program schedules.
  • Ability to work on site in Boulder, Colorado and support in-person Government meetings and mission activities as required.
  • Ability to support CONUS and OCONUS travel when required by the Government.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and classified information, Government systems, controlled-access facilities, and Government-furnished equipment in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Experience supporting United States Space Force, Space Systems Command, or another Department of Defense acquisition organization.
  • Experience developing or analyzing Integrated Master Plans, Integrated Master Schedules, work breakdown structures, or program baselines.
  • Experience with engineering process improvement, lessons learned, configuration management, or risk management.
  • Experience supporting large, technically complex space or defense programs.
  • Experience working in classified program environments.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a technical or functional authority on complex Department of Defense programs.
  • Experience advising senior Government leaders, shaping technical approaches, and leading high-visibility reviews or analyses.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $145,000-$165,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
