Job summary

Neusoft in Mountain View is seeking a software tester to own functional and system-level testing of Smart Home / IoT devices, including smart speakers, displays, TVs, and sensors. You will conduct end-to-end testing across devices, mobile apps, cloud services, and ecosystems.

The role requires hands-on testing of onboarding, pairing, connectivity, control, automation, and interoperability, plus Wi-Fi/Bluetooth testing and robust defect reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/EE or related field.
  • 2+ years in software, embedded, IoT or connectivity testing.
  • Familiar with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies.
  • Experience with Android, Linux, or embedded systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in defect tracking with JIRA.

Job description

  • Responsible for functional and system-level testing of Smart Home / IoT devices, including smart speakers, displays, TVs, sensors, and other connected devices.
  • Perform end-to-end testing across devices, mobile applications, cloud services, and smart home ecosystems.
  • Validate device onboarding, pairing, connectivity, control, automation, and interoperability.
  • Conduct Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity testing, including pairing, connection/reconnection, stability, coexistence, and network recovery.
  • Execute smart home scenarios such as device control, routines, multi-device interaction, voice commands, and automation.
  • Perform stability, stress, regression, and long-duration testing to identify reliability issues.
  • Analyze test logs and system behavior to identify root causes and provide clear defect reports.
  • Work closely with development, firmware, cloud, and product teams to reproduce, troubleshoot, and track issues to closure.
  • Support test case design, test execution, defect tracking, and test result reporting.
  • Contribute to test automation and continuously improve testing efficiency and coverage.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in software, embedded, IoT, smart device, or connectivity testing.
  • Solid understanding of Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth technologies.
  • Experience with Android, Linux, or embedded systems is preferred.
  • Familiar with common testing methodologies, including functional, regression, stability, and stress testing.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze logs and system behavior.
  • Familiar with defect tracking tools such as JIRA and basic test management processes.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional and global teams.
  • Good written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Smart Home / IoT products.
  • Experience with Matter, Thread, Alexa, Google Home, or other smart home ecosystems.
  • Experience with Bluetooth/Wi-Fi interoperability and coexistence testing.
  • Basic Python scripting or test automation experience.
  • Experience with API, mobile application, or cloud testing.
  • Experience working with consumer electronics or smart devices.
  • Experience troubleshooting connectivity issues through device/system logs
