Job summary

ADT is seeking a Smart Home Consultant to guide residential customers in designing a home security and automation setup. You’ll combine hands-on installation with consultative sales, teaching customers how security, IoT devices, and smart home products work together to protect what they value most.

You will activate systems, educate customers on our app and features, and ensure each solution fits their unique needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Strong customer-focused communication skills.
• Technical aptitude with smart device ecosystems.
• Ability to understand how multiple products interact within a home network.
• Advise customers on the best system design and setup for safety goals.
• Continuous learner who adapts to new tools and technologies.
• Ability to climb, lift 10+ pounds, and work indoors/outdoors.

What you should know about our team

Our Field Operations team is the hands‑on force that brings our smart security solutions to life. From installation and service to troubleshooting and customer education, these team members are the face of our company in homes and businesses across the country.

What you will do

As a Smart Home Consultant, you’ll guide residential customers in designing a home setup that helps protect what they value most. You’ll combine hands‑on installation with consultative sales, helping customers understand how security, IoT devices, and smart home products work together. You’ll activate systems, educate customers on our app and features, and ensure every solution fits their unique needs. You will:

What you need to be successful

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; additional licensing may be needed based on location.
• Strong customer‑focused communication skills.
• Technical aptitude with smart device ecosystems and connected technologies.
• Ability to understand how multiple products interact within a home network.
• Advise customers on the best system design and setup to support their safety goals.
• Continuous learner who adapts to new tools and technologies.
• Ability to climb, lift 10 or more pounds, and work indoors/outdoors in varied conditions

This role offers

• Hourly pay: $15.30–$19.55
• Earning potential: Average of $105,000 annually with uncapped upsell commissions, job completion pay, quality bonuses, and referral incentives.

Training

• Paid an additional $320 per week (on top of hourly pay) during the three‑week onboarding program
• Includes New Technician Training, Field Safety Training, and Peer‑to‑Peer Training
• Company vehicle provided for work use
