Job summary

Siemens Smart Infrastructure is offering a Smart Building Systems Specialist Intern program in Norcross, GA. Interns will split time between field technician experiences, sales exposure, and project/service operations, learning to install, troubleshoot, and service advanced HVAC and building automation systems.

The program emphasizes collaboration with engineering and project management, hands-on learning on-site, and direct customer interaction.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or state-recognised GED.
• Students currently enrolled in or who have recently completed a 2-year Technical College/School pursuing a degree in HVAC Controls, Building Automation, Mechanical/Electrical/ Energy/Sustainability or related program.
• Availability: able to work 40 hours per week for 10-week program (May–July or June–August).
• Relocation: must be willing to work onsite with no relocation or housing stipend.
• Work Authorization: legally authorized to work in the United States without company or school sponsorship; visa types not supported.
• Comfortable working in rooftops, mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, outdoors.
• Hands-on role requiring use of hand tools, laptops, tablets, smartphones; review program and troubleshoot building systems.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Team player who collaborates with coworkers and customers to deliver solutions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows-based laptops; quick to learn new software.
• Enrollment status must be confirmed; redacting age/DOB details will not affect candidacy.

Responsibilities

• Spend most of your time on job sites with Siemens technicians to install, program, and service HVAC and building automation systems.
• Gain exposure to sales by shadowing the sales team and understanding how solutions are designed for customers.
• Rotate through service and project operations to learn installation through maintenance and upgrades.
• Visit customer sites to troubleshoot HVAC and building systems; assist in maintenance and new installations.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve drawing discrepancies and address challenges.
• Document service activities, explain system operations to customers, and provide basic training for smooth hand-off.
