Job summary

Roanoke Rapids City Schools seeks a Reach Associate paraprofessional at Belmont Elementary in Roanoke Rapids, NC. You will provide small-group tutoring and classroom support to a Multi-Classroom Leader team under the lead teacher’s guidance.

You will help with administrative tasks, supervise transitions, and participate in on‑the‑job development, partnering with teachers, tutors, volunteers, and digital lab staff to foster respectful, engaging learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children.
• Bachelor’s degree a plus, but not required.
• Consistently high ratings on classified evaluation instrument(s).
• Track record of consistent attendance and professionalism.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and group effectiveness with adults and students.

Responsibilities

• Hold students accountable for high expectations of behavior and engagement.
• Contribute to a culture of respect, enthusiasm, and rapport.
• Manage student behavior during transitions and less structured time.
• Monitor independent work time in classroom.
• Facilitate instruction and tutor small groups as directed.
• Supervise projects, skill practice, and digital learning.
• Solicit feedback to improve professional skills.
• Collaborate with the MCL on student instruction and progress.
• Maintain administrative duties (attendance, grades, conferences).
• Collaborate with teachers, tutors, volunteers and digital lab staff.
• Participate in professional development opportunities.
