Job summary

Power Wellness is seeking a Small Group Training Coach for Kishwaukee Health & Wellness Center. This part-time position involves leading individual, partner and small group sessions to a range of fitness levels, with a focus on safe, effective training and client engagement.

Responsibilities include conducting health assessments, scheduling requests, assisting with program development and contributing to center marketing efforts, while maintaining certifications and professional conduct.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent sales, marketing, writing, presentation and tracking skills required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a personal trainer or small group training required.
  • Nationally recognized NCCA accredited certification required.
  • Group exercise instructor certification preferred; preferably NCCA accredited.
  • Certification for some specialty group exercise class instruction is preferred.
  • CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, and ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review Health History Questionnaire and Physician approval documents.
  • Instruct individual, partner and small group training sessions to members and guests of varying fitness levels.
  • Must teach group exercise classes to drive engagement.
  • Train within standard guidelines of specialty certifications.
  • Understand contraindicated exercises for safe and effective workouts.
  • Assess client fitness level and design programs considering medical history and goals.
  • Respond to and schedule personal training requests.
  • Suggest new programs to grow personal training services for members and community.
  • Maintain industry certification and complete CE requirements.
  • Demonstrate accountability by starting/ending sessions on time and avoiding missed sessions.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts for Small Group Training and revenue-generating programs.
  • Coordinate with departments for program development.
  • Attend staff meetings and assist with training SG Training associates.
  • Support Retention Programs and maintain customer-service oriented staff.

Position Title: Small Group Training Coach
Location: Kishwaukee Health & Wellness Center
Type: Part-time ($20-30/hr)

Responsibilities
  • Review all Health History Questionnaire and Physician approval documents.
  • Instruct individual, partner and small group training sessions to members and guests of varying fitness levels.
  • Must teach group exercise classes to drive engagement.
  • Train within standard guidelines of specialty certifications.
  • Understand contraindicated exercises providing a safe and effective approach to exercise.
  • Assess client's fitness level and appropriately design a training program taking their medical history and fitness goals into consideration for a safe and effective approach to exercise.
  • Respond to and schedule all requests for personal training services.
  • Provide suggestions for new programs that promote and contribute to the growth of personal training services for the members and community.
  • Maintain industry certification in good standing and meet continuing education requirements.
  • Demonstrate accountability to schedule by starting and ending sessions on time, and avoiding missed sessions.
  • Contribute to the marketing efforts for Small Group Training both within the center and the community, plan and facilitate revenue generating Small Group Training Programs.
  • Respond to any member feedback or issues in a timely manner and in coordination with management.
  • Coordinate with departments for program development.
  • Conduct and/or participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Assist with training Small Group Training associates.
  • Assist the Fitness Manager with all Retention Programs.
  • Maintain friendly customer service-oriented staff, and inter-department relationships.
  • The ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to center hours and work schedules.
  • Must meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
  • Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and confidence communicating with EMS.
  • Demonstrate Power Wellness Core Values & Beliefs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
