Job summary

Padnos in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Small Equipment Operator / Shipping and Receiving Associate to safely operate hi-lo, forklift, sweeper, bobcat and other small equipment to support loading, unloading and material handling.

The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail and quality as you distinguish material grades, perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot minor issues, and complete required paperwork.

Qualifications

• Six months operating small equipment experience preferred.
• Strong experience and expertise in warehouse organization.
• Equipment operation and preventative maintenance knowledge.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Accuracy in operation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate hi-lo, forklift, sweeper, bobcat, skid steers and/or small loader to load, unload, grade, inspect and transport materials.
• Distinguish between material grades and types using basic tests according to company standards.
• Perform routine operator maintenance and monitor equipment for malfunctions.
• Prepare and complete required paperwork and reports.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and communicate with management.

• Monday - Friday 7a to 5p

Small Equipment Operator / Shipping and Receiving Associate Position Summary:

TheSmall Equipment Operator / Shipping and Receiving Associateisresponsible for safely operating equipment such as hi-lo, forklift, sweeper, bob cat, skid steers and/or small loader to assist in loading, unloading, grading, inspecting, buying and transportation of materials.

• Distinguish between numerous grades and types of materials using basic identification tests according to company standards
• Perform required bore, during and after-operation user maintenance
• Monitor equipment, troubleshoot and/or notify management of any malfunctions that occur
• Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
• Prepare various documents and reports
• Troubleshoot and mechanical diagnosis to identify basic repair needs
• Prepare and complete required paperwork

Small Equipment Operator / Shipping and Receiving Associate Qualifications:

• Six months operating small equipment experience preferred (forklift, sweeper truck, hilo)
• Strong experience and expertise in warehouse organization - pulling, sorting, packing
• Equipment operation andpreventativemaintenance knowledge
