Job summary

RMGS, Inc. is seeking a Small Craft Instructor at Stennis Space Center, MS, to provide development, instructional support, and training analysis for high risk, operational requirements.

The role requires expertise in curriculum development, instructional delivery, and Navy risk management processes. The candidate should hold a verifiable SECRET clearance, possess strong communication skills, and have substantial military teaching experience, with the ability to read and write English at a high

  • Six years leadership/instructor experience with no degree, or four years with degree in Education/Engineering/Instructional Development.
  • Experience in technical environment with curriculum development and SOF-unique watercraft systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Provide development, instructional support, and training analysis for high risk, operational and logistical requirements.
  • Apply Navy training standards and instructional delivery techniques to course development and evaluation.
  • Manage course curriculum including writing and updating material and ensuring compliance with applicable instructions.

Job description

RMGS, Inc. is currently recruiting a Small Craft Instructors at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide development, instructional support, and training analysis for high risk, operational and logistical requirements.
  • Employ expertise in the methodology of learning, curriculum development, question and test development, effective classroom and lab instructional delivery techniques, employment of training aids, student progress measurement strategies, lesson delivery, public speaking, and functional knowledge of the Navy’s Operational Risk Management process.
  • Shall perform the functions in accordance with Naval Education and Training Command’s NAVEDTRA 130C (series) and have an in-depth knowledge of written and oral communication principles, methods, and techniques; analytical methods; and interpersonal relations practices.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • USN Master Training Specialist (MTS) certification or another agency equivalent.
  • Three (3) years’ experience as active-duty service member in at least one of the following specialties:
  • United States Navy (USN) Sea Air Land (SEAL)
  • United States Army (USA) Special Forces, Ranger, or Infantry
  • United States Marine Corps MARSOC or Infantry operator
  • Six (6) years’ leadership and instructor experience in a formal training environment with no degree, or four (4) years\' leadership and instructor experience in a formal training environment with a degree or certificate from an accredited U.S. college in either Education, Engineering, or Instructional Development.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a technical environment (technical writing, rewriting, and updating curriculum) in principles of SOF-unique watercraft systems and equipment.
  • Four (4) years’ experience as a USN Enlisted Qualification (NEC 805A) Instructor.
  • Six (6) years’ experience in course curriculum management and providing instruction.
  • Examples of relevant course curriculum and instruction areas are Diesel and Outboard Engine, Maintenance and Overhaul, Aluminum and Arc Welding, Navigation, Field Communications, Weapons Systems Operation and Maintenance, Electrical systems repair, and maintenance and electronic systems repair and maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently hold a verifiable SECRET security clearance vetted through JPAS.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain and keep current a Mississippi Statewide Security Guard Gun permit.
  • Ability to obtain and keep current a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A.
  • Proposed candidate must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the following Naval Instructions: OPNAVINST 5100.19 Series, Safety Precautions for Forces Afloat; OPNAVINST 3500.39 Series, Operational Risk Management; OPNAVINST 4790.4 Maintenance and Material Management (3-M) Manual; OPNAVINST 5530.13C Arms, Ammunition and Explosives Physical Security.
  • Able to qualify as a “High Risk Instructor” per guidelines set forth in OPNAVINST 1500.75 Series, Policies and Procedures for Conducting High-Risk Training. Courses taught will have “Live Fire” action during course of instruction.
  • Able to obtain personnel and vehicle access to military installations.
  • Possess excellent work ethic, verbal and written communication skills, and be detailed and accurate in performing all administrative and routine functions.
  • Be physically fit and able to work in an environment that is fast paced while completing multiple tasks and meeting stringent timelines.
  • Work alternate schedules to satisfy training requirements.
  • Cross train with other contracted positions to fill in during absences.
  • Proficient at performing data entry on IBM®-compatible computers utilizing current versions of Microsoft® Windows®, and Microsoft Office® applications like Excel®, Word®, PowerPoint®, Outlook® and other related programs.
  • Write correspondence in military format, when necessary.
