Job description

General Description: Consultative account management partner for Commercial Lines (Select) client accounts of $10,000 to $15,000 in revenue. Activities include marketing, analyzing coverage options, presenting recommendations, and implementing insurance programs. Maintain 92% or above retention on assigned book of business. Support USI sales process by participating in new business sales opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned Select Commercial Lines clients.
  2. Make recommendations for client insurance programs based on USI’s proprietary solution set.
  3. Provide advanced technical expertise to clients and prospects.
  4. Support sales and cross-selling opportunities. Accompany Producer and Practice Leaders to meet with prospective clients.
  5. Manage client account in accordance with USI guidelines and key performance indicators.
  6. Manage renewal workflow for assigned book of business, avoiding any lapse in coverage.
  7. Responsible for marketing and placement of client insurance renewals.
  8. Determine most-appropriate carriers for market pricing.
  9. Analyze and compare carrier quotes and coverage offerings.
  10. Make insurance program recommendations to clients.
  11. Develop strong relationships with insurance carriers to negotiate on client’s behalf.
  12. Adhere to company’s credit and collection policy in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments.
  13. Request policy cancellations in accordance with company standards.
  14. Keep current on industry information, technology, and trends.
  15. Mentor more junior members of the Select Commercial Lines team.
  16. Attend sales and marketing weekly meetings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. 5+ years of experience in a Commercial Property & Casualty insurance agency.
  2. College degree preferred.
  3. Strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance.
  4. Must hold a Property & Casualty insurance license.
  5. Knowledge of Sagitta/ImageRight preferred.
  6. Industry designation such as ARM, CIC, CPCU preferred.
  7. Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
  8. Able to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
  9. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
  10. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Physical Demands:

Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner, and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include walking, sitting, standing, and bending.

  1. Constantly (over 66% of time) work performed requires employees to use repetitive hand motions such as typing, using a keyboard, and sitting at a desk.
  2. Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to handle and grasp things, walk on normal surfaces, stand, and bend.

  4. Rarely (< than 1 hour per week) work performed requires lifting/carrying items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling items that range from 10-50lbs, twisting/turning including reaching over shoulder or above head, kneeling or squatting.
