Job summary

Southern Paws Animal Medical Center in Florence, SC seeks an Associate Veterinarian to provide high-quality care for small animals. The role includes general medicine, surgeries, dentistry, and diagnostic workups using in-house labs and imaging.

You will collaborate with a supportive team and mentor new graduates, while engaging with pet owners to discuss treatment plans. We offer a $100K sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, student loan support, future ownership options, and a mentorship

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
• Active veterinary state license.
• Current DEA License preferred but not required.
• USDA Accreditation preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Practice general veterinary medicine for small-animal patients.
• Perform surgery and provide dental care within the hospital’s clinical services.
• Use laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging to guide patient assessment and treatment.
• Provide individualized care across routine appointments and more complex medical cases.
• Collaborate with fellow DVMs and dedicated support staff.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners about their pets’ care.

Southern Paws Animal Medical Center is a general practice and small-animal veterinary hospital serving the Florence community. Our hospital provides general care, surgery and dentistry, with emergency and critical care capabilities. Veterinary resources include an in-house lab, digital radiology, Butterfly ultrasound, a surgical suite for complex and orthopedic procedures, a dental suite and therapeutic laser.
