Job summary

AdventHealth in Lenexa, KS is seeking a PRN Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality ultrasound exams in accordance with provider orders and established protocols. You will verify patient identity, obtain clinical history, and position patients to acquire optimal images while maintaining EMR/PACS documentation and patient privacy.

The role requires RDMS credentials (abdomen, pediatric, OB/GYN, vascular), BLS/CPR, and ARRT certifications.

Qualifications

• Must have Technical/Vocational School background and certifications.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• RDMS abbreviations and ARRT credentials required/EV accredited issuing bodies.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per provider orders and protocols.
• Verify patient identity and exam appropriateness; obtain clinical history prior to scanning.
• Position patients and equipment; manipulate transducers and settings to acquire diagnostic data.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR/PACS.
• Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and privacy throughout the exam.

Job Description

Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in accordance with provider orders and established protocols. Verifies patient identity and exam appropriateness and obtains necessary clinical history prior to scanning. Positions patients and equipment appropriately and manipulates transducers and technical factors to acquire optimal images, waveforms, heart rates, and other diagnostic data. Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems. Explains procedures to patients, ensuring comfort, cooperation, and privacy throughout the exam.
