Job summary

Wieland in Reading, PA is hiring a Slitting Operator for on-site processing. Training lasts 8 weeks on first shift at $23.33/hour, with potential to earn a bonus pool of $4.00+ per hour after training. A second shift adds $1.75/hour. Responsibilities include safe operation of slitting equipment, quality checks, and supporting production flow.

Opportunities exist to bid on other operator roles within Wieland's manufacturing environment. High school diploma and mechanical aptitude are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanically and mathematically inclined with basic math abilities.
• Ability to read a micrometer and perform basic measurements.
• Ability to operate computer-based systems and follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety regulations in the plant.
• Process metal through slitting operation and manage the slitting crew per schedule.
• Review mill cards to understand slitting requirements.
• Set up equipment and slit material per instructions.
• Complete quality checks and enter data on mill cards.
• Assist general mill hand to maintain production flow.
• Adhere to Heyco Quality System during processing.
• Keep work area clean.
