Job summary

Koil Metals is seeking a Slitter Operator on First Shift in Detroit, MI. The role leads the slitting crew, ensures quality and safety, and optimizes roll-to-roll setup and production flow.

You will verify run information, prepare setups, monitor equipment, document production, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. A high school diploma and experience with slitting machines and measuring tapes are required, with strong communication and basic math skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Advanced knowledge and skill level of slitting machine.
• Must be able to read Standard/Metric measuring tape.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematic calculations.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify production run information for accuracy and provide setup instructions.
• Build slitter head to optimize machine capabilities.
• Process coils within quality tolerances.
• Complete all required documentation and reports.
• Monitor equipment for safe operation and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure safety of team members and stop machine if unsafe.
