Job summary

Carpenter Co. operates a 1st shift as a Baumer Operator (Operator A) at our Longview, NC manufacturing plant. The role focuses on slitter operation to maximize material use with minimal trim, in a production environment with daily communication to Quality Control and management.

Position requires basic computer skills, ability to read a tape measure, forklift operation, and adherence to safety with a 6:00am–2:30pm shift. Competitive hourly pay and strong benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and call-in with little notice.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or glue slabs together in preparation for the cutting process.
• Ability to run and operate computer controlled cutting equipment.
• Monitor quality and make any adjustments in cutting.
• Make thickness checks on products.
• Inputs pertinent data into the SAP system.
• Must be able to make machine adjustments when necessary.
• Inputs data and records for production programs.
• Collect data and document production programs.
