YMCA Camp Campbell in Boulder Creek, CA is seeking an Overnight Camp Counselor to supervise and engage a group of campers, acting as their main caregiver during their stay. You will run and support all camp programs, promote safety, inclusivity, and teamwork while modeling the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Prior camp experience and CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain) are preferred.

Competenze

• Prior camp staff experience or equivalent experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certified (can be obtained upon hire).
• Must have good decision making skills, and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Desire and ability to work in a camp setting.

• Actively participate in staff trainings, orientations, and meetings.
• Complete planning, setup, implementation, and cleanup of camp activities and special events.
• Serve as an enthusiastic and cooperative member of the camp staff team, contributing to the overall success of the camp program.
• Model and teach the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility in all interactions with campers, families, and staff.
• Consistently follow and uphold all camp policies, procedures, and standards while encouraging accountability among campers and staff.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, guardians, visitors, and community members through professional and courteous interactions.
• Remain alert and able to visually and audibly identify hazards, behavioral concerns, and environmental risks associated with camp activities.
• Respond appropriately and calmly to emergencies, accidents, and behavioral incidents.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support camp operations and camper needs.
