Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist for our Sleep Center. This PRN role provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care, and education under the supervision of the clinical director.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a health care related field required.
• 1 year experience in polysomnography or equivalent education acceptable.
• Sleep Technology Registry in sleep technology by one of the following organizations: The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists-RPSGT; The American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM)-RST; NBRC-RRT-SDS, CRT-SDS; An equivalent examination accepted by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze and integrate patient information to determine testing parameters with ordering physician or clinical director.
• Prepare and calibrate equipment, apply electrodes and sensors, perform calibrations and PAP fitting.
• Follow procedural protocols for MSLT, MWT, parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration to collect data.
• Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events according to center protocols; generate reports.
• Oversee difficult procedures and interventions and ensure data integrity and safety.
• Maintain equipment, inventory and infection control standards; provide age-appropriate care.
