Job summary

MEP Health in Flint, MI is seeking a Lead Sleep Technologist to supervise the daytime sleep lab, mentor technologists, and coordinate workflows for accurate diagnostics and high-quality patient care. You will oversee study preparation, conduct and supervise PSG and titrations, and manage portable/home sleep testing devices while ensuring HIPAA compliance and ongoing quality assurance.

This role requires RPSGT/CRT credentials, 2–3 years leadership experience, CPR/BLS, and strong communication

Qualifications

  • Active RPSGT, CRT-SDS, or CRT/RRT with RST credentials.
  • 2–3 years of team leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Strong knowledge of AASM scoring, PSG equipment, and PAP protocols.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

The Lead Sleep Technologist supervises and coordinates daytime sleep lab operations, ensuring high-quality patient care and accurate diagnostics. They mentor and schedule sleep technologists, manage workflow, and serve as the primary escalation point for clinical and technical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, and mentor team members, conducting competency checks and supporting performance management.
  • Oversee sleep study preparation, including patient history review, equipment calibration, sensor application, and adherence to standards.
  • Conduct and supervise diagnostic PSG, split-night, CPAP/BiPAP titrations, and other sleep studies, ensuring data quality and protocol compliance.
  • Manage portable and home sleep testing equipment, troubleshoot issues, and educate patients across all age groups.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and safety protocols; participate in quality assurance, documentation, and accreditation activities.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Active certification: RPSGT, CRT-SDS, or CRT/RRT with RST credentials.
  • 2–3 years of team leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Polysomnographic or Sleep Technology, experience with HSAT, complex PAP titrations, staff training, or accreditation standards.
