Job summary

Phoebe Albany is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under supervision of the clinical director. The role includes polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care and education.

This full-time night shift at Phoebe Sleep Lab Services offers growth opportunities, an emphasis on teamwork and ongoing education to advance sleep medicine.

Qualifications

  • 2 year / Associate's Degree in Polysomnographic or related field.
  • 1-2 years direct patient care in polysomnography or respiratory therapy.
  • CPR and one of CPSGT/RST/RPSGT required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services.
  • Supervise other staff as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on sleep disorders.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure patient safety.

General Requirements
  • Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.

  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
Education Requirements
  • 2 year / Associate's Degree in Polysomnographic or related field of study.(Required)
Experience Requirements
  • 1 - 2 years direct patient care experience as it relates to polysomnography and/or respiratory therapy. (Required)
Certifications and Licensures
  • Required: CPR and one of the following: Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT), Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
