Pivotal Health is seeking a dedicated RPSGT - Registered Sleep Technologist for the Columbus, Ohio area. The Sleep Technologist will conduct overnight and daytime sleep studies in a clinical setting, monitor patients, and ensure accurate data collection to support accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

The role collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals, maintains detailed records, calibrates equipment, and adheres to strict regulatory standards to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and accredited PSG technologist training.
  • RPSGT certification or equivalent credential.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Experience with polysomnography equipment and sleep studies.
  • Strong understanding of sleep disorders and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and calibrate polysomnographic equipment prior to patient studies.
  • Monitor patients during sleep studies and record physiological data.
  • Record and analyze data, identify abnormalities for physician review.
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort during testing.
  • Prepare detailed reports and assist physicians with treatment plans.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.

About The Role

Pivotal Health is seeking a dedicated RPSGT - Registered Sleep Technologist in Columbus, Ohio at Bethel Road. Contracted with Ohio Health. The Sleep Technologist plays a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders by conducting overnight and daytime sleep studies in a clinical setting. This position involves monitoring patients during polysomnographic recordings, ensuring accurate data collection, and maintaining patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure. The Sleep Technologist collaborates closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret data and contribute to patient care plans. Additionally, the role requires maintaining detailed records, calibrating and troubleshooting specialized equipment, and adhering to strict protocols and regulatory standards. Ultimately, the Sleep Technologist helps improve patients' quality of life by supporting the effective diagnosis and management of sleep-related conditions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited polysomnographic technologist training program.
  • Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent credential.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience with polysomnography equipment and sleep study procedures.
  • Strong understanding of sleep disorders and related physiological monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a health-related field such as respiratory therapy, nursing, or biomedical sciences.
  • Additional certifications such as Certified Sleep Technologist (CST) or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS).
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary sleep center or hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and data management software.
  • Strong communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and calibrate polysomnographic equipment prior to patient studies to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Monitor patients during sleep studies, observing physiological parameters such as brain activity, eye movement, muscle activity, heart rhythm, and breathing patterns.
  • Record and analyze data collected during sleep studies, identifying abnormalities and ensuring data integrity for physician review.
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout the testing process, responding promptly to any patient needs or emergencies.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing study findings and assist physicians in interpreting results to develop treatment plans.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of sleep study equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Adhere to all clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements related to sleep study procedures.
  • Educate patients about the sleep study process and provide instructions for pre-study preparation and post-study care.
