Job summary

Sidney Regional Medical Center in Sidney, Nebraska seeks a PRN Sleep Technologist to join our Sleep Lab team. You will work under the Sleep Program Medical Director and report to the Sleep Program Manager, performing sleep studies, calibrations, and patient care.

Qualified candidates hold a Sleep Technology certificate or associated degree (or Respiratory Therapy degree), CPSGT/RPSGT or RRT credentials, BLS, and are willing to complete required programs such as A-STEP. New grads welcome.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited education program with a certificate or associate degree in Sleep Technology, or a graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, or complete required A-STEP program.
• Prefer 1 year of clinical sleep lab experience. New graduates considered.
• Licensed as a CPSGT or RPSGT credential through BRST, with RPSGT within 18 months of hire.
• RRT must hold a current Neb. license; RRT-SDS credential within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; if not current, complete within first month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively between patient, family, physicians, and staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Follow physician orders and review patient information to assess condition and determine testing requirements.
• Prepare for sleep studies and calibrate equipment as ordered.
• Document sleep study observations, including sleep stages and events.
• Perform routine PAP interface fittings and oxygen titration as needed.
• Maintain cleaning and disinfection procedures for sleep lab equipment.
• Handle daily charting, billing, pre-authorizations, and chart audits per hospital standards.
• Teach trainees and other health care personnel sleep lab procedures.
