Job summary

Major Hospital is seeking a Sleep Lab Technician to operate overnight or daytime diagnostic sleep studies under physician supervision.

You will prepare patients, attach sensors, monitor sleep data, and assist with post-study reporting and scoring for physicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; completion of a specialized polysomnography program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explain testing steps and review medical history for patients.
• Attach sensors (EEG, EKG, and breathing monitors) and prepare patients.
• Monitor vital signs and sleep patterns in real time; apply therapies like CPAP/BiPAP as needed.
• Calibrate testing devices, troubleshoot issues, and record accurate data.
• Disconnect patients, score sleep records, and prepare physician reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Preparation: Explain testing steps, review medical history, and attach sensors (EEG, EKG, and breathing monitors).
• Monitoring: Watch vital signs and sleep patterns in real-time; apply therapies like CPAP or BiPAP when needed.
• Data & Equipment: Calibrate testing devices, troubleshoot technical problems, and record accurate clinical data.
• Post-Study Duties: Disconnect patients, score sleep records, and compile reports for physician review.

Qualifications

• CPSGT or RPSGT
• RRT
• BLS/CPR

Education

High school diploma or GED; completion of a specialized polysomnography program is preferred.
