Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program or NBRC certification.
• RPSGT certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Knowledge of age-specific patient care.
• Proficient in oxygen therapy, CPAP, BiPAP and related devices.
• Experience with EKG, EEG, PFT and ABG testing (if certified).
• Knowledge of patient safety standards, infection control, and emergency procedures.
• Compliance with hospital policies and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform and schedule sleep studies including PSG, MSLT, and MWT.
• Score, evaluate, and archive polysomnograms per protocols.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain sleep lab equipment.
• Monitor patients during testing for accuracy, comfort and safety.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for physicians and referring providers.
• Consult with healthcare providers and patients regarding diagnosis and outcomes.
• Educate patients about sleep disorders and post-study expectations.
• Maintain records and ensure insurance documentation requirements.
• Support quality improvement activities and clinical training.
