Job summary

Hog Slat, Inc. in Humboldt, IA is seeking a Slat Plant Supervisor to direct and coordinate production activities at the Humboldt Slat Plant. You will lead the manufacturing team to meet production plans, quality standards and safety requirements on a day shift.

The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience in manufacturing, knowledge of concrete production processes, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Work with management to establish, coordinate and supervise the completion of the manufacturing plan.
• Assigns specific tasks to each workstation.
• Keeps track of attendance-sheets and checks actual attendance of all team-members.
• Checks raw material supplies and inspects welded mats.
• Follows up machinery functioning and informs maintenance of malfunctions.
• Checks the quality of produced concrete and takes corrective actions when non-conformities occur.
• Identifies causes that could impact the quality of the process or products.
• Keeps track of daily production of concrete batches and number of products.
• Monitors and documents curing temperatures and times.
• Supervises compliance to manufacturing stages and the quality of finished products.
• Ensures production parameters meet quantity and quality targets.
• End-of-shift cleaning checks and instructs maintenance for issues.
• Ensures work instructions and safety compliance for all team members.
• Works with maintenance to follow lockout/tag-out procedures.
• Provides training and assistance to personnel as needed.
• Adheres to quality, safety and environmental regulations.
• Informs team members about health and safety procedures.
• Produces daily production and safety reports.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with management to establish, coordinate and supervise the completion of the manufacturing plan.
• Assigns specific tasks to each workstation.
• Keeps track of attendance-sheets and checks actual attendance of all his team-members.
• Checks the raw material supplies and inspects welded mats.
• Follows up machinery functioning and informs the maintenance department in case of malfunction.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and/or extreme cold.
