Job summary

Slalom Build is seeking a software tech lead to guide a pod of engineers and ensure tasks stay on track while integrating Kotlin where needed. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver scalable cloud solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of tech lead experience, proficiency with React, Node.js, TypeScript, and CDK, and strong AWS skills (SQS, Lambda, SNS, DynamoDB, Redshift, S3). Occasional Irvine commuting is expected.

Lead a pod of software engineers providing oversight and keeping them on task. Ideally brings knowledge of Kotlin to help bridge the gap.

What You’ll Bring

Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree with 5+ years of tech lead experience
Experience with react, node, typescript, and CDK
Strong AWS services experience with SQS, Lambda, SNS, DDB, Redshift, S3
Kotlin experience strongly preferred
Additional experience with accelerated engineering such as MCP, Kiro/Claude Code, Agent Skills, context management
Ability to commute 2 days/week to Irvine

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: The targeted hourly pay range for is $70/hr to $100/hr. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The hourly pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
