Job summary

Transforming Age’s Skyline at First Hill in Seattle seeks an experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead nursing operations with compassion and rigor. You will oversee care quality, regulatory compliance, and staff development across the nursing team.

The position requires RN licensure, 3+ years in long-term care, and strong leadership to foster resident independence and a culture of excellence within a premier senior living community.

Qualifications

  • RN licensure required for nursing leadership.
  • 3+ years of management experience in long-term care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with dementia programming.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, revise standards, guidelines, forms and job descriptions.
  • Promote staff education and monitor mandatory training.
  • Participate in regular management meetings.
  • Coordinate admissions, discharges and evaluations for residents.
  • Protect resident rights and ensure proper documentation.
  • Maintain liaison with residents and families to support independence.
  • Collaborate with Medical Director and other professionals.
  • Coordinate with department directors for resident services.
  • Maintain required state agency documentation.
  • Organize educational opportunities for residents and families.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal rules.
  • Keep current on scope of practice for self and staff.
  • Support Transforming Age mission and culture of excellence.
  • Perform duties as assigned.

The pay for this role is $145k - 165k per year DOE.

Our Director of Nursing:

is responsible for planning, organizing and direct the overall operation of nursing services in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines to foster the highest degree of quality care.

Our Director of Nursing Servicess
  • Develop, review, and revise standards, guidelines, forms and job descriptions.
  • Provide and/or promote staff educational programs, monitor attendance and compliance with mandatory training as required.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled management meetings.
  • Coordinate the completion of the admission, discharge, and evaluation materials and process for all residents. Ensure appropriate documentation including functional assessments.
  • Ensure that all resident rights and responsibilities are protected and enforced.
  • Establish and maintain a close liaison with residents and families, promoting an environment that allows residents to function as independently as possible.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and other professional service providers.
  • Coordinate with appropriate department directors and supervisors for services provided to the residents.
  • Maintains all documentation required by state agencies.
  • Organizes and promotes educational opportunities for residents and families.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal requirements and regulations.
  • Maintains current knowledge for scope of practice for self and support staff.
  • Seeks opportunities for personal and professional growth, related to clinical standards of practice, gerontology, rehabilitation, organization, management, regulatory agencies, infection control, and interpersonal skills.
  • Monitors usage of supplies and equipment and plan for long-range equipment replacement.
  • Prepares preliminary departmental Operating Budget.
  • Reviews, investigates and resolves customer grievances in cooperation with the Nursing Home Administrator.
  • Participates in presentations to appropriate community organizations and individuals to meet community established occupancy goals.
  • Supervises staff to provide quality services in a caring environment, which strives to preserve the residents’ independence and self-respect.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings to exchange information and address issues affecting resident care
  • Promotes the Mission, Vision and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility, and demonstrate commitment to Culture of Excellence and strategic goals
  • Performs her duties as assigned.
What You Need To Succeed
  • Must be a Registered Nurse.
  • Three years’ experience in long-term care.
  • Three years previous management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with staff and external constituents. Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Experience in system development and dementia programming.
