Job summary

D&B Caldwell is seeking an experienced small engine repair technician/mechanic to join our full-service shop. Wage is dependent on experience, with opportunities across full-time and part-time roles in a busy service environment.

Responsibilities include diagnosing engine issues, advising customers on repair vs replacement, documenting repairs in the work order system, and performing carburetor work, valve adjustments, and fuel-line replacements while maintaining a safe, organized shop facility.

Qualifications

  • Proven work history in repairing small engines.
  • Ability to diagnose power tool or equipment issues.
  • Ability to type detailed notes for each repair and enter them into the work order system.
  • Excellent customer service and ability to build strong customer relationships and follow through.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose small engine issues and recommend repairs.
  • Communicate with customers on issues and repair vs replacement options.
  • Enter detailed repair notes and specs into the work order system.
  • Work on small engines including carburetor cleaning/replacement and valve adjustments.
  • Assess work volume with supervision to estimate repair times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized shop and safe equipment handling.
  • Answer phones and handle routine inquiries.
  • Other duties related to small engine repair and store operations.
