Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking a Plasterer to maintain and preserve campus facilities, working in the FP&M Finishing Shop. You will apply, repair, and remove plaster on walls and ceilings, interpret blueprints, and coordinate with clients to complete projects safely and efficiently.

The role operates Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm, with occasional nights, weekends, and holidays. A registered apprenticeship or 3+ years’ plastering experience is required, and comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Completion of a registered apprenticeship program approved by the Department of Workforce Development as a Plasterer OR 3+ years of relevant work experience

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled plastering work according to established trade standards and applicable building and safety codes
• Reviews finished projects with client/customer. Maintains records and reports of work status and completion according to established deadlines and expectations
• Cleans work area upon completion of projects according to established guidelines and expectations
• May supervise assistants during project work as needed
• Interprets blueprints and drawings to determine specifications and to calculate the materials and equipment required. Discusses project plan with customer/client
• Gathers materials, prepares work area, and maintains equipment and supplies needed for jobs
