Job summary

CARTI is seeking a Painter to perform pre-painting activities and assist the maintenance team. Responsibilities include cleaning, scraping, sanding surfaces, patching, caulking, masking, and preparing areas for painting.

The role requires adherence to OSHA/SDS guidelines, ability to read blueprints, operate power tools, and maintain equipment. High school diploma or GED and Arkansas driver's license preferred; prior carpentry or drywall experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with surface preparation, cleaning, scraping, and sanding.
• Experience with drywall paneling, plaster and crack repair.
• Willingness to perform maintenance repairs across trades.

Responsibilities

• Paint exterior and interior areas per project specs.
• Execute pre-painting tasks: cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, masking.
• Maintain inventory of paints and supplies as directed.
• Follow supervisor instructions for finishes and applications.
• Comply with OSHA/SDS guidelines for hazardous chemicals.
• Assist in cleaning up after project completion.
• Support maintenance/construction team on special projects as needed.
• Join drywall panels using tape and plaster and repair cracks.
• Conceal imperfections and ensure flat plaster surfaces.
• Operate fixed and portable power tools safely.
• Read and interpret instructions and blueprints.
