Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Skilled Paint Technician to join our Fibrebond team in Minden, LA!

The hours for this role average at 54 per week between 6am – 4:30pm.

The hourly range for this position is $18.15–$24.20 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do

The Skilled Paint Technician is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing structural materials and components used in modular buildings. This role requires advanced painting skills, strong attention to surface preparation, and proficiency with industrial spray equipment. The technician works closely with teammates under moderate supervision, performs high‑quality paint applications, and supports skill development through participation in complex and high‑level paint operations, with the primary objective of delivering a finished product that meets Eaton’s quality, safety, and appearance standards.

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, cleaning, masking, and repairing materials as required
  • Repair surface defects or damage to materials prior to paint application
  • Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to specifications and manufacturer requirements
  • Perform high‑quality spray painting (primary method), as well as roller and brush applications when needed
  • Apply spray foam insulation as required by job specifications
  • Operate and maintain painting equipment including spray booths, airless and conventional spray guns, sanders, wire wheels, grinders, and related tools
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs to paint equipment and spray booths
  • Safely operate forklifts and scissor lifts when required
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by performing housekeeping duties and following 5S practices
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use and hazardous material handling
  • Assist with training or mentoring less‑experienced painters as needed
  • Perform other job duties as required by job order or as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Previous working experience with spray paint equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, or automotive environment
  • Experience operating hand and power tools
  • Only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active‑Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of painting industry experience
  • Strong working knowledge of surface preparation techniques and paint/coating application
  • Knowledge of different coating systems and application methods
  • Familiar with OSHA safety guidelines requirements, and hazardous material handling, application and disposal
  • Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, or Crown lifts; driver certification preferred
Skills
  • Strong track record of attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and surface preparation equipment
  • Ability to identify and properly use spray guns, paint rollers, and brushes
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of trade secrets
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to wear PPE such as eyewear, Tyvek suit, respirator, and steel‑toed boots with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, work at heights up to 14ft., ascend and descend while working on a ladder, bend, crouch, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Facial hair is not allowed due to safety requirements of wearing the respirator
  • Ability to work in environments with exposure to paint fumes
