Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a skilled laborer to support telecom construction projects. You will perform manual tasks on outdoor job sites, build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems, and troubleshoot field issues with a hands-on, safety-first approach.

You will learn and train across Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, and Directional Drilling while contributing to long-term project goals and community impact. Relocation not required; strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Must follow safety protocols and have a track record of quality work.
• Willingness to work outdoors on utility construction sites.
• CDL A license with a clean driving record is required.
• Ability to learn telecom construction trade areas (Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling).

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of utility construction for telecom projects.

Responsibilities

As aSkilled Laborer/Groundman, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

• Responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with the use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites
• Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day
• Build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
• Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment

Qualifications

• Safety is a part of your day-to-day
• You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands‑on approach to your work
• You are looking for long‑term projects
• You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team
• You have a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record

Compensation of $20-$25 per hour, depending on the experience.
