Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for our Transfer Station in Hyde Park, Vermont. The role centers on safely operating yellow iron equipment to transfer and load materials, while maintaining facility security and cleanliness.

Responsibilities include coordinating truck dumps, meeting loading schedules, and enforcing safety rules for customers and staff. 2+ years of heavy equipment experience preferred; HS diploma or GED required; eligible to work in the US.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Legally eligible to work in the US.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Two years of heavy equipment operation preferred.

Aufgaben

• Opens and closes the facility according to scheduled hours of operation.
• Oversees the schedule of where and which trucks are to dump and switching out trailers.
• Ensures public areas of the transfer station are clean at all times; follows daily/weekly/monthly schedules.
• Ensures customers use the transfer station safely according to safety rules.
• Meets loading schedules to assure driver loads are ready for production.
• Directs incoming trucks to unloading areas in a safe manner.
• Follows safety and equipment checks in performance of duties.
• Reports mechanical issues to the shop foreman promptly.
• Participates in training and other learning opportunities.
