Job summary

CMES, Inc. through its C&S Contracting Co. division seeks an experienced Concrete Carpenter/Finisher to support heavy civil projects across Georgia, including bridges and box culverts. You will build forms, place reinforcing steel, and finish concrete to high standards in a safety-focused team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of concrete carpentry/finishing experience.
• Heavy civil, bridge, roadway, or structural concrete construction experience preferred.
• Experience with cast-in-place concrete, form systems, and reinforcing steel preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or related certifications are a plus.
• Knowledge of concrete forming, placement, finishing, and curing.

Responsibilities

• Build, set, align, brace, and remove concrete forms for heavy civil construction projects.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, layouts, and grade stakes.
• Place, tie, and secure reinforcing steel (rebar) according to project specs.
• Pour, spread, screed, float, edge, trowel, and finish concrete to tolerances.
• Operate concrete finishing equipment including power trowels, concrete vibrators, saws, and hand tools.
• Assist with concrete placement during pours while ensuring proper consolidation and finish quality.
• Install anchor bolts, embeds, expansion joints, and other structural components.
• Monitor weather conditions and adjust finishing methods to ensure proper curing.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Accurately complete daily timecards and report production activities.
• Inspect work for quality and compliance with project specifications.
• Communicate effectively with the Foreman regarding job progress, material needs, and safety concerns.
• Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
