Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a skilled Painter to join our Operations & Maintenance team in Houston. The role focuses on surface prep, applying paints and finishes, and repairing surfaces to maintain facilities for clients.

Safety and teamwork are essential as you work at various heights with PPE. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of professional painting experience, knowledge of interior/exterior methods, and familiarity with OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of professional painting experience in commercial or industrial settings.
• Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and various painting methods (interior and exterior).
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and practices.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, and applying primer.
• Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
• Repair and patch drywall, plaster, and other surfaces as needed.
• Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results.
• Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts to reach high areas.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project status and needs.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
