Job summary

Hill York seeks a skilled HVAC Service Technician to inspect, maintain, repair, and install heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems at commercial and residential sites in Florida. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on customer service, adheres to safety protocols, and can diagnose and resolve a range of mechanical, electrical, and control issues.

Preventive maintenance ensures systems operate efficiently and safely.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physical activities including lifting 50 lbs or more.
• Comfortable working on rooftops, in tight spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• UA Apprenticeship or Tech-schools preferred.
• Preferred certifications: Journeyman HVAC License, Master HVAC License, EPA, CFC Certification.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems for commercial and residential sites.
• Diagnose electronic, mechanical, and electrical components across system types.
• Provide excellent customer service with safe, timely workmanship.
• Source and install replacement parts and calibrate per manufacturer specifications.
• Explain findings clearly to customers and document work.
• Service equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, rooftops, furnaces, and split systems.
• Coordinate with dispatch and travel to job sites; communicate delays.
• Respond to after-hours and weekend emergency calls on a rotating schedule.
• Maintain vehicle, tools, safety equipment, and PPE in good condition.
• Complete documentation in service software and pre-task plans.
