Position Title: CNC Machinist

Wage: $25-$35/hour

Shift: 2nd

Hours: 3:30pm-2am Monday-Thursday (10-hour shifts)

This is a direct hire role.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities

1. Set up, program, and operate Haas vertical and horizontal machining centers, turning centers, and G&L boring bars with confidence.
2. Utilize a CAM system (preferably Mastercam) to develop programs for manufacturing parts.
3. Develop processes, select tooling, and perform setups to produce parts within tight tolerances (+/- 0.005").
4. Conduct machining operations ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality finishes.
5. Perform inspections and maintain detailed documentation to ensure quality standards.
6. Provide feedback to improve programs, tooling, and processes.
7. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, prioritizing safety.

Requirements

1. High school diploma or GED; Journeyman or 2-year technical degree preferred.
2. Mathematical skills including geometry, trigonometry, and machining layouts.
3. Critical thinking skills for troubleshooting machining challenges.
4. Physical stamina for lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, climbing, and bending.
5. 2-3 years of CNC machining experience, especially with Haas centers and G&L boring bars.
6. Proficiency in G&M code programming; conversational programming skills are a plus.
7. Basic CAM programming experience, preferably with Mastercam.
8. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and GD&T.
9. Knowledge of carbide drills, end mills, inserted cutters, and boring tools.
10. Experience machining ferrous and non-ferrous materials, understanding feeds and speeds.
11. Competency in measuring and inspecting parts for length, diameter, straightness, and flatness.
