Job summary

Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA) is seeking a skilled carpenter to maintain and repair facilities across its owned and leased properties in Kodiak, Alaska. You will perform carpentry, installation, and renovation work to keep buildings safe, functional, and compliant with codes and standards.

This role requires navigating remote locations by air, being on-call, and coordinating with other facilities staff to minimize disruption.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3+ years in carpentry or construction.
• Experience in commercial building maintenance and renovations preferred.
• Vocational training or assoc. degree in carpentry/ Construction highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and finish carpentry; measure, cut, install, repair wood, drywall, metal.
• Construct and maintain interior/exterior components (doors, windows, frames, walls, ceilings, trim).
• Read blueprints and specs; ensure work meets codes and standards.
• Operate carpentry tools safely; estimate materials and coordinate with team.
