Job summary
Sunland Asphalt and Construction, LLC. is seeking an experienced Tack Truck - Distributor Operator to join our growing team in Phoenix, Arizona.
You will operate distributor trucks and related heavy equipment, perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitor gauges, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety policies, and quality standards.
The role requires basic paving knowledge, a valid Class A CDL, and a commitment to reliability, teamwork, and safety on busy job sites.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 6 months to 1 year related experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of paving industry including grades, drainage and asphalt paving.
- Must be fluent in English (read, write and speak).
- Willingness to travel to any jobsite.
- Class A CDL license in the work state.
- Hazmat or tanker endorsement may be required depending on position.
Responsibilities
- Operate distributor truck and related heavy equipment safely.
- Load/off-load oil materials and monitor gauges.
- Set spray bar and apply asphalt according to specs.
- Perform daily pre/post trip inspections and documentation per DOT guidelines.
- Coordinate with Foreman on daily production and safety meetings.
- Assist with general labor and job-site cleanup.
