Overview

General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) is a proud and approved DoD SkillBridge Industry Partner. SkillBridge is an excellent opportunity as you plan for your life after the military. This program is open to any rank, enlisted or officer. SkillBridge is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last six months of service for up to 180 days.

Eligibility

• Have 180 days of service or fewer remaining prior to your date of discharge and have at least 180 continuous days of active service.
• Obtain written authorization and approval from your unit commander to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of the internship.
• Will receive an honorable discharge.
• Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS.
• Agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the service if mission requirements dictate.

Objective

SkillBridge program participants will receive on the job training and job-shadowing opportunities to gain skills to meet the specific needs of the organization and will be prepared to meet the GDLS mission to provide innovative design, engineering, technology, production, and full life‑cycle support for land combat vehicles around the globe. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, mentoring, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on GDLS leadership expectations, company history, customer / stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.
