Job summary

Independence Excavating, Inc. is seeking a Crushing Groundsman to operate a skid steer and perform basic mechanical maintenance on a portable aggregate crushing plant.

The role ensures safe, efficient plant operation, equipment upkeep, and support for the production process. The ideal candidate has experience with skid steer operation, mechanical maintenance, and a focus on safety in a MSHA-governed plant environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a skid steer and performing basic mechanical maintenance is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and MSHA environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate Skid Steer to move materials and assist with plant operations.
• Perform basic mechanical maintenance, lubrication and inspections on plant systems.
• Ensure safety compliance and maintain a safe working environment.
• Regularly inspect and monitor plant equipment to identify and address issues.
• Support production by coordinating with plant operators and team members.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and incidents.
