Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned mountain areas to ensure trails are properly marked.
• Identify injured guests and out-of-control skiers and snowboarders.
• Assess skiing hazards and monitor weather and traffic conditions.
• Provide care and transport injured guests down the mountain.
• Transport equipment around the mountain and evacuate guests from chairlifts.
• Assist with trail maintenance and general mountain upkeep.

Full-Time and Part-Time Roles Available.

Basic Function and Overview: To monitor mountain areas for injured, reckless and lost skiers and snowboarders, and for skiing hazards; provide first aid and other necessary assistance to skiers and snowboarders; enforce company skiing safety regulations; complete ongoing training and emergency procedures practice; and perform various trail maintenance tasks.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Patrol assigned mountain areas regularly to ensure that all trails are properly marked.
• Identify injured guests and list out of control and reckless skiers and snowboarders.
• Identify existing potential skiing hazards, and monitor and report on weather/skiing conditions, skiing traffic and the like.
• Emergency responsibilities include providing care and transportation of injured guests down the mountain.
• Transport equipment around the mountain.
• Evacuate guests from chairlifts.
• Crew members may perform physical outdoor work including trail building, vegetation management, erosion control, sign installation, and general mountain maintenance.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Advanced skiing and riding ability for all terrain types required.
• Must work well in a team.
• Excellent communication and guest service skills.
• Must be able to work holidays and weekends.

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• First Aid certification (OEC preferred, Maine EMT acceptable) required.

Physical Demands:

• Occasionally lift and carry people/objects weighing in excess of 150 pounds and pushing/pulling sled with injured guests weighing up to 300 pounds.
• Must be able to withstand harsh winter conditions.
