Job summary

Kawasaki Robotics Inc. in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Senior SJ Robotics Test & Reliability Engineer III to improve system performance through control tuning, reliability testing and validation of electro-mechanical robots and controllers.

You will design test plans, develop automated scripts, analyze data, and lead continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a lean, well-organized lab and complying with 5S methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in ME, EE, IE or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 5-10 years’ experience in Testing & Reliability engineering, data acquisition and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems (preferably in semiconductor and robotics).
• Understanding of mechanical systems, general engineering concepts and quality concepts & principles.
• Basic scripting and programming in Python, C++ or Matlab.
• Proficient with instrumentation and data collection tools.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Enhances robot performance by tuning control systems.
• Generates reliability test plans and executes them.
• Conducts functional and reliability testing on single and multi-link robots and controllers.
• Performs firmware regression testing and collaborates with software engineering to resolve issues.
• Designs, fabricates, validates, qualifies, and sets up test equipment, jigs and fixtures.
• Creates test scripts to automate test conditions.
• Collects test data, analyzes it, and presents findings.
• Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical failures and reports findings.
• Investigates product failures, determines root cause, and implements corrective actions.
• Initiates CIP and lean-improvement projects aligned with the org. vision.
• Maintains 5S and lean practices in the lab.
• Maintains a lean and organized lab environment.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Summary
