Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph, Missouri seeks a Clinic RN to work under the Clinic Manager and Provider direction. You will perform patient assessments, administer medications, assist with procedures, and oversee nursing care in a busy clinic setting.

Requirements include graduation from a school of nursing, RN licensure (state or compact), and BLS within 90 days. A BSN is preferred and at least 1 year of hospital or clinic nursing experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing is required.
• BSN degree preferred.
• 1 year hospital or clinic nursing experience preferred.
• RN license in state or compact licensure required upon hire.
• BLS certification required within 90 days.

Job Description

The Clinic RN works under the supervision of Clinic Manager and under the direction of the Provider. The RN – Clinic performs patient assessment and follows established standards and practices for nursing care. May delegate responsibilities and provide clinical oversight to other unlicensed nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Greets and prepares patient for provider examination and treatment. Performs general nursing care to patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Assists provider with procedures and properly maintains equipment before and after procedures.
• Engages in patient/family teaching to achieve the desired patient outcome.
• Review medical charts for completeness. Documents all medications, refills, telephone conversations and patient visits in the medical record.
• Monitors the scheduling of patients, answers patient inquiries, and maintains timely flow of patients.
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Graduate of a school of nursing - Required
• BSN - Preferred

Work Experience

• 1 Year - Hospital or clinic nursing experience - Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensure/Or Compact State Licensure - State Licensure/Or Compact State Licensure in state, depending upon designated work location - Required Upon Hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required within 90 Days

Travel Requirements

• Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required

• Ability to communicate clearly to patients, providers and staff.
• Must demonstrate precise eye/hand coordination and fine motor skills for IV procedures, blood pressure checks, injections and medical procedures.

• Displays a friendly, positive attitude and communicates with patients, families, physicians and co-workers in a professional manner.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and written.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Must move, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull, and lift.
• Must follow good body mechanics.

• Ability to collect thorough information regarding patient's condition and evaluate effects of care; must be able to visually inspect patient's condition.

• Must be able to assess patients and nursing staff by visual observation.
• Hear patients in person and on the telephone and be able to verbally respond.
• Must be able to feel to take blood pressure and pulse.

Exposure to Hazards

• Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, body fluids, needle sticks and other conditions common to a medical clinic environment.
