Job summary

TW Constructors in St. Louis, MO, invites applications for the Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville Student Internship (Summer 2027).

You will shadow project engineers, managers, estimators, and safety professionals on design/build projects, gaining hands-on experience from concept through closeout. You’ll participate in active job-site visits, budgeting, scheduling, and cost management while supporting preconstruction activities and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university.
• Foundational understanding of construction principles and practices.
• Experience with subcontracts, subcontractors, or self-perform work is a plus.
• Willing to travel to projects nationwide; comfortable with active construction sites.
• Prior internship or project engineering experience on projects valued at $5 million+ (design-build preferred).

• Collaborate with engineers and planners to develop and maintain project schedules.
• Support the creation of accurate project forecasts and budgets.

• Assist senior project managers in overseeing construction activities.

The Role:

As an Intern you will have the opportunity to shadow experienced Project Engineers, Project Managers, Estimators, and Safety Professionals. In this role you will be part of the team responsible for taking projects from the conceptual stages through the closeout of a project. You will experience active job site visits, hands on work experience, and valuable safety training.

• Prior internship or project engineering experience on projects valued at $5 million or more (design-build experience preferred)

• Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically capable of navigating active construction sites, including walking, climbing ladders, and accessing multi-floor scaffolding
• Fast-paced work environment—appropriate job site footwear and attire required
• Projects are located nationwide; travel may be required
